Patch Management

How are duplicate GRN records handled?

The system should validate whether the GRN has already been received/processed. If the same data is received again, it can be identified as duplicate and a duplicate/rejection response can be returned.

Why is the GRN number important?

The GRN number acts as a unique reference for identifying and validating the transaction and helps prevent the same record from being processed repeatedly.

GRN

What is a GRN?

In the discussion, the GRN number is used as the main reference for identifying the SAP transaction.

Is the GRN number used as a unique identifier?

Yes. The discussion emphasized validating the GRN/reference number so that the same transaction is not processed multiple times.

Can a GRN contain multiple line items?

Yes. The discussion referred to a GRN header with multiple line items.

Can the same GRN number be received more than once?

Yes. The scheduler or API process may send the same data again, so ITSM needs to validate whether it has already been processed.

API Response

Should the response contain the same GRN/reference number?

Yes. The discussion emphasized returning the corresponding GRN/reference information along with the response status.

Scheduler

How can repeated scheduler data be handled?

The system should validate the GRN/reference number in the database before processing the record.

Header and Line Items

How is the GRN related to line items?

The GRN/reference acts as the transaction-level identifier while multiple line items can exist under that transaction.

Can different transaction details be associated with the same GRN?

The discussion indicates that the GRN and its related line items need to be maintained consistently so the transaction is correctly identified.

Can purchase orders be generated?

Yes. PO generation can be handled as part of the procurement process.
